Las Vegas, NV (April 29, 2024) The community of the northeast valley in Las Vegas was shocked to hear about a pedestrian hit-and-run in their area. To add to this sad accident, it turns out that the pedestrian was on the sidewalk when they were hit. It happened just before 8:00 a.m. on North Nellis Boulevard. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident, reports indicated.
The morning sun was shining as a 29-year-old pedestrian walked down a sidewalk in the northeast valley of Las Vegas. Just south of the intersection of East Craig Road and North Nellis Boulevard, a white 2008 Chevrolet Equinox approached, heading south. At approximately 7:50 a.m., the vehicle jumped the curb and went onto the sidewalk. The Chevy struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene.
Emergency crews received the call and rushed to the scene. They found the pedestrian on the ground with life-threatening injuries. They rushed the victim to UMC’s Trauma Center to receive treatment. The pedestrian remains in critical condition and the medical staff at the hospital said they are fighting for their life.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Northeast Area Command later found the Chevrolet that struck the pedestrian. However, the driver is still at large, officers said.
