Las Vegas, NV (October 11, 2024) A community was left in shock this morning following a hit-and-run accident in East Las Vegas. Reports indicated that a pedestrian was walking at the intersection of Mojave Road and Charleston Boulevard, when they were struck by a vehicle around 6:00 a.m. The driver then fled the scene, officers reported, leaving the injured pedestrian behind.
It was just before 6 o’clock this morning as a pedestrian walked through east Las Vegas. Not far from Fremont Street, the pedestrian continued walking near the intersection of Mojave Road and Charleston Boulevard, as a vehicle approached. Suddenly, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking them to the ground. Instead of stopping and waiting for authorities, the driver of the vehicle hit the gas and fled the scene.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim on the ground, badly injured but alive. Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital in the area to receive emergency treatment for unknown injuries.
The intersection was closed in every direction as officers gathered evidence and worked to determine what caused this east Las Vegas accident. Investigators are doing everything within their power to try and determine what vehicle struck the pedestrian. In doing so, they are determined to find the driver and bring him or her to justice for this hit-and-run collision.
