Coachella, CA (July 31, 2024) A Coachella man named Robert Villa, 37, was tragically killed in a crash that occurred late Tuesday, July 30.
At about 10:42 p.m., Villa was struck at the intersection of Grapefruit Boulevard and Gateway Center. Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene and found him with critical wounds.
Sadly, RCFD reported that Villa succumbed to his injuries within ten minutes of the accident.
An investigation is ongoing. It’s unclear at this time what kind of vehicle hit Villa, or if the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
Nearby lanes were temporarily closed overnight as officers investigated the accident.
