Las Vegas, NV (March 25, 2024) A community remains shocked following the tragic deaths of three people in a collision on Saturday, March 23rd, in Las Vegas. The Nevada State Police reported that the fatal collision occurred on State Route 163 between a big rig and at least one motorcycle. 22-year-old Owen Hart, a Saint George, Utah, resident and 44-year-old Jeremy Gebo were both killed in this traumatic motorcycle collision with a big rig. A third motorcyclist was also killed in this accident, but their identity hasn’t been released.
The Nevada State Police received the call about an accident involving a big rig and at least one motorcycle at approximately 2:40 p.m. They arrived at the scene on SR-163, not far from U.S. Highway 95, and found at least one motorcycle with severe damage. Debris covered the roadway and officers had to close all lanes of the highway following the accident.
Paramedics arrived and rushed to give medical assistance to those injured. Sadly, they found three people with fatal injuries. The three victims were pronounced dead at the scene and covered with tarps as authorities awaited the arrival of the coroner, according to reports.
29-year-old Blaude Rafiki was arrested following the collision. He caused the accident by driving his semi-truck on the wrong side of the road and colliding with the motorcyclists. Officers also determined that Rafiki was driving under the influence at the time of this deadly crash.
