Burbank, CA (April 10, 2024) An accident on State Route 134 in Burbank on Wednesday morning left a motorcyclist seriously injured. The collision took place just after 7:00 a.m., east of Olive Avenue on SR-134, at Hollywood Way, reports indicated.
Rush hour traffic was beginning to pick up on State Route 134 in Burbank on the morning of April 10th. A yellow motorcycle and a white garden truck were both head west on the highway, along with other vehicles, heading to their destinations. Suddenly, the garden truck collided with the motorcycle, according to witnesses. The impact sent the motorcyclist rolling across the highway until they finally stopped in the HOV lane. The motorcycle was knocked over and slid along the lanes of the highway, as well.
The motorcyclist wasn’t moving and, as someone called 911, a black pickup truck parked behind the motorcyclist to protect them from traffic. Three other vehicles stopped to help, as they waited for emergency personnel to arrive at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol said they arrived to find the motorcyclist lying in the HOV lane, not moving. Paramedics rushed to the motorcyclist’s side and began life-saving treatments as officers tried to direct traffic away from the scene.
Evidence was gathered by investigators and they are determined to figure out what caused this accident and who was at fault. The motorcycle had to be hauled away from the scene and lanes of traffic were closed for a few hours, following the accident.
